I mean this with ZERO snarkiness.... it's a serious question: since the Q400 ended up in CAL colors, was this display before the order? In which case was it a precursor to an actual order? Not at all saying that's what will happen in the case of the CS100, just curious

I think the order was already placed.
I really just meant to say that having a cs100 on display in our hangars could mean anything. It could mean the company wants it for express
Or it could be the obvious bait it seems.
And I meant no snark either. Don't get me wrong, I'm as hopeful as the next guy but I don't like feeling played.
Cheers

From the LUAL side, I can't recall any static display of an aircraft until after it was ordered.
Granted, neither the 777 nor the A350 even existed when the original orders were placed but the full court press must be afoot, IMHO.

Republic was a launch customer for the c-series. They ordered 40. Could be the company wants us to think the static display is a teaser for us. But could be the ole bait & switch. Obviously our contract needs to be amended :/to allow RJET to fly them for UAL.

I don't either. I remember an A320 painted with "Thanks United", but that was obviously post order.

According to the RJET investor conference call last week they are even cancelling future E-Jet orders and reducing block hours for two customers (presumably UAL and DAL) next year because they are not only short pilots overall but unable support the necessary E-Jet training pipeline due to internal training department constraints.

Yeah from the Quebec Goverment who needs to save one of their flagship employers.
The stain on the aircraft is in place and Bombardier is in a precarious way. If the "sustainability" issue was solved their stock wouldn't be dropping 18%.
Proof is in the orders. My horse is the Brazilians.

I'm not sure RJET is in a position to even fly the C100, let alone pay for them, as things have deteriorated since that article was published a year ago.
