Actually you are completely wrong. Not gonna name my source but u will find out in a month. CS-100 is a performance machine. Unfortunately u have to pay huge money to carry that around all the time and barely use it. CS-100 vastly more expensive per copy. UAL doesn't believe bombardier could deliver what they need on time and very worried about support. Most upper management want to stay with a319 and 737-700, and not get another fleet.

I've had a more than a few buds tell me that while the EMB is nice looking, its a piece of junk. I think it would be wise to buy every 319-320 they can get their hands on and skip the hassles and incredible expense of an additional fleet type. Seems to have paid dividends at SWA.

So this is where the "*" in the TA is going to lead us to a fight!!
Does including the E2 in the Pay band with the E190/95 (via and Asterisk) also mean that it fulfills the requirement as a NSNB aircraft??? (no asterisk added in that section mentioned in the TA)
If so, that is where the bigger concern comes for the long term plan for the 319 and 737-700. Especially the 319 since the ones we are getting today are used, so their UA life expectancy would be shorter than most of the 737-700s.
Buy the bigger E2 version and replace the A319s and 737-700 with a lower paying aircraft.
Not sure with the low fuel prices and low lease prices (on used 319s) that this is a short term concern, but as fuel goes up in the coming years the savings in lease costs gets eaten up by the increased fuel costs. Then we end up flying the same sized aircraft for less money !

There are plenty of city pairs where using an A319/737-700 would be suboptimal. And there are plenty of city pairs where using an Embraer would be suboptimal.
I really don't understand this sudden apprehension about a NSNB aircraft on property. Your thinking is what has caused scope creep - we need to take back the SNB flying to mainline.
