He did a good job speaking for me......don't need to add a thing.

So that's 2

These questions need to be answered when someone blindly accuses someone of something that they don't know if they even did. It's important. Get the facts before you slander someone. I'm not standing up for this flight crew, I'm standing up for the process. I do believe that this can be a big deal, but I also believe it's not the OPs job to police the internet. Get a life. I have better things to do than hunt through YouTube looking for pilots to bust, give me a break.

I don't post videos to social media of my mediocre landings because it would be embarrassing. A picture of me in the cockpit? Sure. Oh, and it's at a "major". Gasp! Can you believe I made it?

Thanks for the condescension. I apologize for standing up for those who can't speak for themselves... Or is that too American for you?
The exception I take with this response is that you are incorrect that it was a blind accusation. All the facts are easily accessible in the video itself and with about 2 mouse clicks to see that this "pilot" has an entire channel of these videos posted, so clearly it is an intentional act. You will see tons of cockpit videos on YouTube, but very few ones filmed on US airlines. There's a reason for that. Most of us have figured out what a colossally bad idea this is... As far as the FO being complicit, it really doesn't matter whether he knew or not, gave the captain permission to film him or not, or was totally clueless. Any which way you slice it the captain put him in a terrible position. Absolutely horrible leadership and even worse mentoring. Not the type of captain any of us want at our airline. We have enough problems without introducing self-induced ones.

I knew nothing about this pilot before this link. The video told me everything I need to know about him. I'm very thankful that he has retired. You err in speaking up for him, and there is no slander involved. He's guilty of violation of the FOM and FAR's, and he's DEFINITELY guilty of being dumb enough to make it public for the world to see. I hope he sees this and comes to his senses and takes the channel down. For his FO's sake if for no other reason. It's not slander if it's true, and believe me I would say it to his face. Just as I did to the SCAB moron who took his wife's bag through KCM in SFO.

Now you DO get huge HUGE thumbs up from me for your self deprecating ending. But you're a big leg up on me if you are mediocre, because I am terrible. Since I've been on the uber-guppy my consecutive good landing streak stands at exactly 2!!

The OP posted one video asking who it was. He did not imply there were multiple videos or that he had done any research further. He simply asked who the pilot was in one video. That's the information I went by.

Well if he's not retired he will be soon. I got a good glimpse of him. I think I would say it's easy to recognize him.

My problem with this is: He violated the FOQA letter of agreement. It covers any and all recording devices. How do we expect to get the company and the FAA to honor our agreement if we can't police ourselves.

I wonder if the FO gave his permission on this? I wonder if ALPA and the company agreed to have it filmed and published?

Lots of issues here............

Seems like your making a lot of assumptions. Maybe you should worry less about things you don't know about.
No assumptions required.....I know for a fact that is is a violation of our FOQA program. I don't care if you can see the FO in there or not. That is 100 percent irrelevant. The fact that it happened is bad for FOQA. Here we are trying to prevent cameras in our cockpit and fight the FAA and plaintiffs lawyers and here some "moron" is fighting against the line pilots and against the dignity of our profession, and fighting against the validity and usefulness of a FOQA program.

Not my fault you don't do enough research to know what you're talking about. Ironically then calling out the very people who have taken the time to learn the background behind the video. You could have answered all your own rhetorical questions with a modicum of research.... which you chose not to do. But then arrogantly declare yourself some sort of Matlock with your hypotheticals, all of which were easily disbursed of.

You said you were speaking up for those that couldn't speak for themselves. Who, pray tell, would that be? Everyone on this board can speak for themselves just fine.

You really do need a good healthy dose of "get over yourself". I wasn't kidding about United. I saw you had an app in at the Big 3. I'm being dead serious when I say this; you really should exercise a little humility if you hope to land a job and realize that you DON'T know everything. Having been a check airman here I've learned that the fastest way off the property is to come in with a large slice of attitude. You can take that advice or leave it, matters not to me.

You and I don't often agree, but this is an excellent point.
