Pending Grievances

Oh relax. You come on here and get cranky about not having the immediate answer that you want? Geez. I thought flying a 1900 for GL would give you a thicker skin than that.
Sorry, I have no stats for you. However, I can say in general that there is a great deal of angst over here and a much higher level of grievances than could be considered "typical". Compared to DAL, I'm sure we stick out like a sore thumb. Feel better now?

Reading this board is probably NOT the best place to get a frame of reference for the industry. If you want some background reading as to why the union does the things it does, spend a few days with these books on your e-reader.

No, aero is at frontier. It was mentioned in another thread they have 900ish grievances and United has 9.
I have no factual numbers but I'd have to say that our (United) numbers are much higher, especially considering just the total pilots numbers comparison.
Aero I don't have the answer you are looking for but I can promise you it isn't a 100:1 ratio, especially given we have over 10x the number of pilots, and ones that have been through scab era, double furlough, bankruptcy, mergers etc. I know F9 has been through some stuff but it's not like you are leading the pack in past problems.
ALPA is a stronger union with more resources which enables them to handle grievances faster and with more pilots they can set past precedence easier with the company.

Frontier is not ALPA. We have an in house union, although there is a discussion going on about joining ALPA.
The number of grievances we have is about 200, not 900. A lot of ours were pay issues, and some were ugly. We have a new payroll person and the issues have gone way down, but of course a ton are still pending.

I read "From Wooden Wings" last night and didn't fully grasp the B-Scale pay that was referred to many times including 4 times in the short conclusion.
"The degrading B- scale must end."
"However the hated B-scale, although only a fraction of the scope Ferris and the board envisioned, still plagues this company."
"As Warren Villareal, UAL-MEC No B –Scale Committee Chairman recently said, 'The B-scale salary structure was not just an assault on the new hire pilots, it was an assault on the A-scale pilots.'"
Can someone point me to some reading where I can learn more about what that is; Why it's bad; Is it still here?

I am a pilot with a different carrier. We have a significant stack of grievances pending with the company, and I am curious what the story is at United. Does anyone know roughly how many grievances United pilots file per year, or any thing I can use as a yard stick to compare to my airline.
Thanks
