Yes, the contract, with unspecified pay raises and unspecified contract fixes.
I totally agree with you. Pound sound. Plenty of unfixed pay issues, scheduling issues, FDP extension issues, issues, issues, issues, that show they just could not care less about us comrade coworkers.

I'm actually enjoying not hearing the platitudes, half-truths and insulting pablum.

Absolutely. Times are not very good very often. Of course he'd like to kick the can two years. At least there's the possibility the economy is worse then, oil is higher, ME flying is kicking our butts, and they cry poor. Say no, and negotiate this at the top of the curve. For once.

I say, our contract is about ME, ME, ME. Almost 6 years into this merger and we're still no closer to getting it done. If we get our second contract it may cause the other employee groups to apply more pressure to get their contracts. If those employee groups need our help, let them ask and don't assume the need or want our help.
In fact, if we surrender to an extension, we may be hurting their cause as well as ours more than helping.

Listening costs us nothing. Massive pay raise, fix all current issues, and industry "redefining" in every area - then we can keep talking. Once the company deviates from that we go home and come back when Delta sets the bar.
These are the BEST times for us to negotiate a contract. We don't know where the industry will be in two years, much less two month. I say, listen to what Munoz has to say and go from there.

As for the other employee groups whose contracts are still out? That is not our problem. I have walked with FAs during their info picketing and fully support all our employee groups, but we sacrificed more than our share during the bk, and we should not finance their contracts in any way.

I'm gonna have to agree with my good buddy Mitch. Listening to extension offers costs nothing. The airline biz has had a good run. That could end tomorrow and will end at some point. What's the average time after amendment date for a new contract? That said, it would have to be $weet.

I wonder if the union saw the offer and knew it wasn't enough, or just flat out said no we don't even want to hear it. Sure hope things haven't turned for the worse by 2017.

The folks at CAT seem to be feeling it now.

The big picture I am viewing shows me that the company has been stalling with malace and forethought our "co-workers" over in in-flight and in maintenance. our union can't negotiate on their behalf. We pay dues for our union to negotiate for the pilots.
Now, regarding the "me me me" attitude. Well, I also see this differently. Management has had their way with all of the pilots industry wide for the last 25 years. The way I figure it, my house should have been paid off 14 years ago had management NOT been screwing us. So, it's time to take care of me, and if my union takes care of me, I think that all of the pilots will be taken care of. So, me-me-me is a good thing. greed is a good thing. You only negotiate what you can negotiate, but the market sets the value for what my and your skills and experience is worth, it's the union's job to capture that value and insure we get our fair share of the pie.
I don't see lawyers, doctors, engineers, or other professionals worrying about me me me attitude. They are trying to get fairly compensated for their years of training, experience, and judgment. So, me to. They call that the "me too clause."
