So, long time listener, first time caller....With the recent announcement of JFK closing, PS on 756 going to EWR, DEN 76T closing, the eventual (maybe happening soon but probably not) arranged marriage of the 756 and the 76T, and IAH 737 displacements, how long in your all's expert opinion would it take a EWR 756 FO new-hire to transition to a IAH 756 FO with ALL other variables remaining the same? (And I know it'd be easier on the bus due to seat locks and fleet growth, but I'm just curious about the 756 specifically)

There is no telling. The company doesn't appear to have a plan. IMHO IAH will be hard to get for a while. They just announced today that they're involuntarily sending people from the 76T to the 756 in both seats, and with 3 rounds of displacements on the Guppy, I'd honestly be suprised to see any FO openings for a while. Maybe the Bus if they continue to grow it, but even those slots could be taken by Guppy FOs.

Here's the deal, If the slick tie folks are PO'd. They are PO'd. It is not unlike a cheating spouse. Once the trust is broken it's hard to get back. You can chide them all you want, but I've seen those guys bite back pretty hard and usually the one that gets in their face is the one picking up the ALPA pin out of the trash. They are dues paying members in good standing and if they choose to wear a pin so be it. If they chose not to, so be it. It's a lesson really for ALPA. You can't pick people's pockets and take their money and treat them like trash and expect them to wear you pin. You can blame it on L CAL ALPA, but the last I checked everyone paid dues to National ALPA and really if the education wasn't up to par, then National ALPA should have recognized that and engaged and done what was necessary to insure the I's were dotted and the T's were crossed.
It will take probably 3 to 5 years for folks to feel better about anything. Their daily lives and their quality of life directly correlate to their feelings of good will (or not) towards those that put them in this position. it's convenient to blame the union, because it was the union's "process" that did this.
You'll get a better response from these folks if you don't offer them ALPA pins and just leave them alone. They don't need a cheerleader or a pin. They need to be left alone and not bothered.
