There have been many rational rebuttals to your arguments which seem centered around either a) somehow the reopening of 747 ORD is relevant in this case, even though it WASN'T relevant in the multiple bumps the LUAL pilots have endured; or b) somehow most of us are jealous of the 2005/2006 pilots who got Captain bids, even though many of us are thousands of numbers senior to them and have been Captains since the 90's.
I've said this 40 times, and it's been echoed by almost every other pilot on this board from both legacies, but I'll say it one more time: I don't want to see ANYONE bumped. Period. I hope manpower planning comes up with some sort of actual PLAN and spares any further bumps from ANY base or seat. But I'm STRONGLY against an increase in grandfather rights for ANY future or past bumps because I feel it will cause MORE bumping as it makes it cheaper (therefore easier) for the company to change their mind. The more expensive bumps are for them, the more they will actually think before doing it. The shorter the grandfather rights, the more expensive it is. That really should be the end of the story

There are certainly a lot of pilots sitting in seats out of seniority because of a massive vacancy that bid closed a day before the SLI and filled a years worth of upgrades.

The company does many things that are wack! I know that many on the LCAL side know that Flight Opps MGT and the Union Leadership is now almost exclusively LUAL. This combine with the angst towards (as demonstrated on this thread) the 14-02 bidders could be a reason. Even someone as "thick" as me can see the possibilities.
You lose.

14-02 was the last LCAL bid. All LCAL bids are numbered for the date which the company had to train you by or 1 year from the date it was opened. bid 14-02 came out in Feb of 2013. It was the last bid. There was not a bid one day before the SLI.

Are you saying that LNW is in on the conspiracy too? Again, Howie has little to no control over this. Or the supposedly "Flight Opps MGT now almost exclusively LUAL". Even Ben knows that as his latest tirade letter focused on Herve Lavenant, the MD Crew Resources. Crew Resources decides domicile manning.
Herve is former L-CAL. Herve works for VP-Network Ops Tracy Lee who is former L-CAL. Tracy works for Exec VP & COO Greg Hart who is former L-CAL. Greg works for Chairman, President &CEO Jeff Smisek who is former L-CAL.
The VP Network decides where the aircraft are utilized also driving domicile manning. That is Brian Znotins who is former L-CAL. Brian works for SVP Network, Pricing and Rev MGT Doug Leo who is former L-UA. Doug works for Vice Chairman and Chief Revenue Officer Jim Compton who is former L-CAL and Jim works for Jeff Smisek.
So Doug Leo is the only former L-UA person in the chain of command on this displacement decision. This ALPA-management conspiracy angle has no legs.

I added a new flavor of unfounded ludicrous to the stew to see what would happen.

14-02A was the SFO MOU bid. It had 37 Capt bids... 19 were for the 737 in SFO which your side shared the majority of. I do stand corrected as this was the last LCAL bid but it hardly was a massive bid that put people out of seniority for years and filled years worth of upgrades as Pilot64golfer said.
