Wanted to give a big shoutout and approval to United's hiring folks. I was supposed to interview on the 5th, the day before Hurricane Matthew was supposed to rip through Fort Lauderdale. They called me up to reschedule my interview, just thought that was classy.

Didn't pass Hogan at end of 2014 & counted the days until the year was up & I was eligible for reconsideration. I update religiously....did WAI 2016 ("you'll be hearing from us VERY soon")...checked Spam folder....nada. Nothing negative on my record--in fact, added upgrade & several legit volunteer affiliations over the last 2 years. What gives? Did my app end up on cutting room floor? Furthermore, how would I ever know if it did??

United Hogan Assessment?
Spot on advice.
One part, all true or false, can't remember the total number of questions.
FWIW, I received my hogan email at 9:51 PM on a Thurs night...couldn't sleep, so I took the test at Midnight...maybe took 12-15 mins.
Answered each question with first response that came to mind...answered honestly and DID NOT attempt to answer how I thought United wanted it answered.
- Have I ever told a lie?...of course (True)
- Do I always tell lies?...of course not (false)
- Have I ever been annoyed by coworkers?...ummh, yeah, who hasn't? True)
- Do all my coworkers annoy me?...negative (false)
I think United wants honest average folks flying their airplanes, interacting with their crews and passengers...
Got interview invite the following Tues afternoon, scheduled for 4 Oct (please wish me luck).
FWIWA (for what its worth again)...I gave that same debrief to another hopeful and he passed as well...he is scheduled later in Oct.
Just my perspective, and I am hoping just being "me" will win the day in Denver.
PM me if you have anymore questions...

know before you take
Tailored preparation for your Psychometric test with Hogan (HBRI, HPI, HDS, MVPI)
I'm just one dude that passed... but I did do some research into the test first. All anyone knows is whether they passed or failed... nobody knows by how much... and with that in mind, I'm hesitant to give advice, but I will say us pilots can tend to project our vast aviation-related test taking experiences onto the personality test... doing so is a mistake imo. I'd simply recommend doing some background research into what these tests are looking for in general. I can say these are not pilot-focused questions about airmanship; instead, these questions are trying to tease out specific personality traits that have little direct relationship to aviation. I'm guessing an airline would then weigh some traits higher than others when selecting potential candidates. The link above might be a good place to begin to get an idea on what this is all about. Get to the interview so you can show them who you really are. Good luck!

Got the email this morning....passed!!!
Interviews are in March.
As for the Hogan, I took it same day as I got the email. Answered first thing that came to my mind. I did stay away from the extremes "always" and "never". Took me 16 minutes total.
Best of luck to all those waiting on results!!
