I just took the test too.
For those yet to do it;
There are two separate tests.
Hogan HPI, 240 Qs (evaluates your "bright side" personality)
Hoagn HDS, 168 Qs, (evaluates your "dark side" personality or how you act under stress.)
Just google them and you will find info what they are looking at.
As most have said above, you can't study for it, but I agree with some web sites I found that it helps if you know what these tests are trying to measure. of course the flip side of that is we don't know what UAL thinks is important for being an airline pilot.
i think the hard questions are the ones that used the words "sometimes" and "often", they are not the same as the absolutes like "never" and "always".
My favorite Qs were-
"I understand why stars twinkle?"
"I would like a job that requires travel?"
"I would like to be a fighter pilot?"
I think the real secret of the Hogan is only those 3 questions matter, the rest are all red hearings. LOL

Sorry to hear...
This test should really not be the end-all-be-all. United misses out on sooooo many outstanding people simply due to this test - they actually believe the sales pitch by Robert and Joyce Hogan.
An interview setting that addresses any outliers should follow these tests in order to truly gauge an applicant...
I truly think United is doing a major disservice to itself by basing their decision solely on this vague-question true/false test.
Hang in there...

Took it Friday morning, have not heard anything.
Taking the test is worse that waiting to hear after an interview. After an interview you usually have a good feel if you will get a call or not. After taking the Hogan you have no idea how you did.

It would be great if every UA manager (and above) had to take this test tomorrow. And if they failed, were then summarily shown the door. Irrespective of how hard they worked to get to their present position, and no matter how many positive attributes, evaluations and letters of recommendation they possessed. Gone.
I have flown with a lot of new hires the past year or so and they have been very sharp. If this test is responsible for thinning the herd and finding the positive attitudes and skills I've been flying with then I think it a success.

23 guys in my new hire class. I was astonished at the caliber, attitude and experience of every one of them. Let's say 20 percent cull is correct, so 4-5 guys get the boot because of what, their sky is a slightly different shade of blue?
20% of 12,000+ is a big number. Imagine a few grand of us on the street, irrespective of everything we have done to date because of what?
You think its valid, that's fine. I say it stinks.

It seems like UAL has a long history of arbitrary selection one way or another. (Not that I agree that arbitrary is a good thing....)
