I got the Hogan invite on Tuesday this week, took it Wednesday morning, I haven't heard anything back yet. Wondering if anyone else has heard anything yet this week either pass or fail? I don't think its looking good for me with this long wait...
Thanks.
Thanks.

It is usually pretty quick if you pass.

My friends and I took the Hogan at the same time, and we all got our results back within the same day or two. My two friends "passed", I did not. We all shared questions during the exam and discussed it, there were only several questions I answered differently than them...a few that came to mind (paraphrased):
Is it important to you that people realize your importance when you are older?
Are you a good salesman?
I got the feeling that United is looking for pilots that have a personal identity that is intertwined with their career. Being an important pilot is important to them, and they want to project that to others. That doesn't describe me at all, so I'm not surprised I didn't do well and I'm not upset at the test because I probably would have a tough time fitting in at UAL.
From the 2014 ALPA HIMS course...UAL pilots are/have:
Deliberate problem solving philosophy
Proud and competitive
Hate being wrong
Don't read instructions
"Get the mission done" mentality
Generally not psychologically minded (MMPI)
I know a lot of wonderful folks at UAL. But, if UAL is looking for the above in their psych tests, I wish them the best of luck...

Sure thing,
God complex
-A person is who is said to have a "God complex", does not believe he is god, but acts so arrogantly that he might as well believe his is God or appointed to act by God.
-A psychosis based in uncontrolled narcissism, inflated arrogance and a perceived need to subjugate and/or ridicule other individuals deemed to be inferior or unworthy.
-A man/woman with a narcissistic personality that believes everyone should bow down to him/her. This person usually believes that they are the best at everything and that everyone idolizes them.
The questions were presented in a vague way - "If I were the president the world would be a better place."

For the other applicants out there: the best recommendation for the Hogan is on the first page of this thread:
I took it last week and passed it. Read the question and pay attention to words like always, never, usually, sometimes (etc). Don't overthink it. Just answer honestly and you will achieve consistent results. I recommend taking both sections back to back. It shouldn't take you very long, but you get in a groove and answer consistently.

It hasn't been mentioned for a while, but I want to throw in the whole "untimed" element of the Hogan.
They tell you that it's untimed. It may very well be, but I got a strong sense that it was. There's no clock on the screen, and it's only a theory, but virtually everyone I know including myself who got through the Hogan with a favorable result went fast. The instructions, if memory serves, said that each quiz should take about 20 minutes. That works out to 10 answers per minute, 1 every 6 seconds on average. Fast. When I took it I made a point of metering my pace to get each one done in under 20 minutes. I had a stopwatch running in front of me to help me with that. Maybe it's all in my head, but my feeling is that either there really is something to the time theory OR by virtue of working this fast, you're able to answer consistently because you don't slow down long enough to think too hard and/or secondguess yourself.

They say it's un-timed, I took their word for it.
