Welcome to the party! Can you post your age, fleet pref and base pref?

Cheers!

Hey Gang!

Will be joining you on March 17th as well! Since I live in NH, EWR all the way...39, 737 pref, but will roll with whatever there on day 2!

Curious, What's everyone's background? I'm regional 145 CA based in EWR...see you in a couple of weeks!

31. 32 by class time. Not sure if I'll have a choice but would probably try for the 756. Would love to get back to ORD eventually.

I think you and I (32 years old) will have no problem with a 756 slot as I only know of one other guy younger than both of us in class. Looking forward to meeting you on the 17th!

EWR 756 has the best flying in the system hands down.

Welcome aboard!

As a junior guy on RSV how often will see that good flying you mention, or will we likely be plugging holes throughout the system?

I'm in for the 17th and definitely looking forward to starting, and meeting everyone else in the class also! 39, 10K+TT, 5K+TPIC, a few other items on the resume. Leaning towards 737 but 756 would also be more than fantastic.

I'm curious about the class drops if anyone can shed some light on how they work. As an example, if an earlier class has only EWR 737 slots but a following class offers SFO 737 slots are SFO slots likely available to the earlier class by the time one's out of training? As a different question, if an earlier class has only 737 and 756 slots but a later class offers Airbus slots, are those off limits to the earlier class?

Thanks for any input. I have a lot to learn and appreciate the comments on the other threads about seniority in bases, bidding, changing aircraft, etc.

The drop is provided to class on day 1 and you get to select on day 2 by seniority... Class drops are pre determined by vacancies on previous pilot vacancy bids only.

Once you get a awarded a base/fleet on day 2 you are then at the mercy of future vacancy bids announced by company and can only be awarded if your new seniority can hold the base and fleet to fill a vacancy. In other words "who knows".

Important to note you are seat locked for 2 years once you start training except if you bid a larger aircraft category or bid to captain (not option). If you desire SFO best bet IMO is 737 based on recent bids and fleet planning announcements.
