747-400 at SFO MX; Unusual Paint

I believe it has always been a UAL bird since new. It was parked for a while, while Rono sold the engines. Brought back, but it has the old interior, so the powers that be, said, "What can we do with an airplane?"
Maybe, someone said, we could fly it and sell tickets, and make money! But...then we would have to spend money on it. Hence that's why it looks the way it does. At one point I think it was leased to Atlas, again, didn't want to spend actual money, so they just painted UAL on the side.
When we aren't running other airplanes into it, I think it stays quite busy and does make money.

This bird has old style first and business seats (non lie flat) and used for charters (mil and sports teams)... Atlas paint scheme with United markings and recent major maintenance (2012)... Will be flying along time.

I most likely flew the plane during my furlough at Atlas. It had a "burple" tail but never had the atlas dude painted on it. It was supposedly leased from ual and was configured with 450-470 (can't remember) cloth mostly coach seats.
