Blockin duuude:

Yep, you must be a young-en because you can remember (747 reference) a thread that is over a year old.

In "the day" when I flew the guppies they made a lot more noise and went a lot slower, "speed bumps." After a while we graduated to the "yuppie guppy," and while we didn't go any faster we did make less noise and had tv (EADI and EHSI) to watch in flight.

But sadly I'm still on the "whale" (another dwindling ex-UAL fleet) which does three things well, converts a huge amount of fuel into speed, noise, carbon emissions and weight hauling. The best part was it even makes an occasional fuel stop.

I was looking back at the comments here about 787 deliveries now that the company has said their plan is to hit 25 in 2015, when I noticed this unanswered post.

I really should do a proper tally as it is quite astounding, but a quick look through August of 2014 and I count well over 400 Captain bids in 2014 post ISL versus less than 200 Captain bids for all of 2013 with system bid 14-02.

It does help put things in perspective or at least I hope it does.

Thanks for pointing that out

The -10 can hold 323 pax and has a wingspan of 197 ft with a length of 224 ft (according to boeing.com). Anything but small IMO.

The -8 relatively small for a wide body I would agree. The -9 and -10? No way.
Scrappy - The 787 is wide body pay. Everything else is machismo

Thanks for taking the time to look at the numbers. There are a lot of misconceptions about the size and scope of bid 14-02. When you compare the number of upgrades pre ISL to post ISL, and consider the severe 737 ca understaffing that occurred between 6/2013 until 10/2014, you find that, if anything, the company was too conservative with the number of upgrades included in 14-02.
