The pay rate discussion is ridiculous because unless we can view into an alternate universe there is no way to view this alternate reality. There is no way to tally and verify the votes but from my unofficial count it sounds like the sUAL guys voted in this contract. The sCAL side wanted more but the sUAL guys were willing to roll over for less.
Not so much for LUAL. C2000 was better than this by far.
So the "We wanted a better contract" was not going to happen. You weren't going to magically get any work rules like we had, and based on the SLI presentation, if the quality of the people negotiating with the company for a contract was on par with them, then that confirms it.

Did CAL-ALPA really have a chance in 2009 and 2010 to argue for rates equal to DAL's rates when they just lost money for 9 quarters straight?

This is by far the best contract any CAL pilot has ever seen. Ever.
