Vacancy bid 15-04V
#291
So TK is trying to train 40+ new PI's (FI's) whatever, on the 756/76T fleet as we speak. Training of the trainers is at max capacity and they are still short. They have a total of 14, 756/76T sims in DEN LAS IAH and MIA that will be running at capacity soon. I don't know what they are doing for the 737 at the moment. But it is going to be an interesting spring at the various training centers.

Does everyone agree that the LUA pilots should be able to fly the 26th 787? This would require a bid that would open the 787 and the 747 to both sides in July/August.
Or, does anyone believe that the bid should not be open until the 26th plane is actually on property, essentially keeping the fence until possibly the 28th-30th 787?

Ok, thanks. As a new hire I'm considering trying for an upgrade to the 76T SFO (from the A320 in SFO) but I'm not sure how my QOL will be affected in the 76T vs the A320. I really just want to get access to Hawaiian flying, but I don't want to sit reserve for an extra long time on 76 if I can get a line sooner on the A320. Thoughts?

Also, its not the 26th on the property, its the 25th delivery. No pilot can "be awarded a vacancy" so its likely that we will have 27 or 28 before the first LUAL pilot is flying a 787 and any LCAL pilot is flying the 747.
So in theory, there could be a bid that closes the day before #25 is delivered and it will be LCAL only. If it closes the day after #25 arrives, it should be for anyone to bid.

For what it's worth...C33 meeting last month it was said that the 737 and 76T are safe thru summer...the A-320 on the other hand, MIGHT see another bump before summer. Specifically DEN A320 CAP.
