My GUESS is that they are going to chill out on the bids until after summer. And that could be completely wrong it's just a guess on my part.

Well I noticed on CCS that the vacancy bid screen is alive again....which is what was making me think a new bid might be coming out soon.

Well on the last bid I noticed they min staffed pretty much all categories especially the wide bodies (777). I would expect a bid for wide body positions soon. Then I will agree with AirHoss that they will only put out small bids tell summer. Probably July and August we will see huge bids again for fall training.

The backlog is pretty serious they need to get caught up. hell the EWR 756 FO seat has over 100 pilots that need to be transferred out or trained.

What a better plane to get you out west sooner? 737 or Bus? Since the 73 is growing would it be wise to get on that regardless and hope for a west coast base at some point?

Everything but DEN is open for both planes. 737 probably quicker though.

I can't see that happening. They still need to move people around, and one of the bases that they said was "understaffed" on the last staffing report had about 20 guys move out of it without backfills. So there has to be more bids coming.

Remember that they have to meter out the bids because too many people are getting to bump and their freezes are being canceled because they can't train fast enough.

I was told that they have the training capacity to issue one more large bid to staff summer flying. I was also told that there would be another displacement bid soon.

I got this info during the week of 16-19Dec when I was at the big Willy for the initial Capt charm school. Our class was told the same thing from 2 or 3 different people who would know.

Ok, thanks. As a new hire I'm considering trying for an upgrade to the 76T SFO (from the A320 in SFO) but I'm not sure how my QOL will be affected in the 76T vs the A320. I really just want to get access to Hawaiian flying, but I don't want to sit reserve for an extra long time on 76 if I can get a line sooner on the A320. Thoughts?
