SFO-based used to mean three as well: SFO, OAK, SJC. But we pulled completely out of OAK. Not even RJs.

There was nothing better than that 02:00 reserve call to be at the MOC in OAK as fast as you can get there to pick up a 777 and reposition it to SFO for a morning departure. Can you say $200.00 cab ride from the North Park?

That was back in the days before we had long call. Every day on reserve as RSC.

It's all about boxes checked - CP Meet and Greet - being a check airman - job fairs and LORs from current UAL pilots that have flown with you all help.

Similar question- does lax base reserve cover departures out of other bases, and can we eventually bid to pick up flights originating out of Ontario and San Diego? Thanks.

A pick up has to be out of a base. So yes on the ONT out of the LAX base. No on the San Diego as it is an pout station.

Yes you can pick up open time in a base other than yours but it's kind of tough to get anything.

You must be a line holder to pick up an out of base trip and can only do so after 1300 day prior to said trip.

And even though San Diego is a pout station, people are actually pretty cheery there.
