The're going to sell both training centers and move everything to a brand new building in the Chicago suburbs west of ORD. I have heard they already own the land to build. Flight attendants, Pilots, everything dealing with training.
What's the Vegas odds??? Anyone?

The Vegas sports books have this at 4 to 7 odds with an over-under of 52.

I'm not so sure the realestate at TK is worth all that much. There are relatively new shopping centers across the street, and a lot of new condos on 35L & R. But the neighborhood across Pueblo by the Doubletree, continues to deteriorate. If anything, I'd say the land values are declining.
The old TK building does have some space, but I don't think enough to combine everything without new construction, which is always a possibility. There is enough land around to expand if necessary. It will come down to politics, tax deals and incentives, and what city/county wants it bad enough.
But.....UAL, El Heffe, has not exactly been doing well when it comes to playing the airline game. Lots of room for screwing the pooch.

TK was big enough to train 12,000 company pilots in the past, hiring 100 a month. At night they trained many other pilots on contract. Size is definitely not the issue.
I guess at the end of the day I could personally care less, but I think the disruption in lives of all the instructors and staff will be less than ideal. By choosing a 3rd site, they get to make all the staff, from both l-subsidiaries, equally unhappy.
I think they should probably let it stay at the status quo for a couple of years. We have all been through so many changes, we need to take a break and learn how to do our jobs again. The last thing we need is to have 80% of the corporate knowledge at both training centers leave.

What airline code do you enter when programming Flight Deck Pro? Hmmm....I believe it's UAL + flight number. That doesn't diminish the value of lCAL at all. The surviving airline name is (U)nited (A)ir (L)ines. UCH is the holding company for UAL.
