Since you choose to ignore what that comment was in response to I'll freshen your memory.

Are we perfectly clear now?
Now lets break down your comment above.

Not at all. I am simply pointing out the obvious for those of you who have your heads in the sand. Secondary bumps are coming. those on the chopping block are the Jr. Capts and some F/O's in places like DEN and IAH. Just exactly like we forewarned of these bumps that are happening now. And you can scream and kick and holler all you want but the writing is one the wall. Period end of story.
CAL was a leper colony in the 90's. Nobody in their right mind would have gone there on purpose given a choice. That is the hard cold truth. Stuff changes in this business. Stick around long enough and you'll get to figure that out for yourself.
It is important as you grow and mature to learn the difference between doom and gloom and reality. Maybe that is something you need to work on. Big bumps and career regression are coming to places like DEN and looks like LAX and IAH too. We can only hope that things either change or that it is a short term bump in the road. Sorry if that bums you out dude, reality is cold hard thing sometimes. It's got nothing to do with what company you got hired by initially.

"Now that there is a solid business foundation from Cal, the remaining L-Ual (not all but a very vocal %)want to act as if their mere surviving proves their financial plan was sound."
Yep there's a real reason why there's "foo" at the beginning of your blog roll name.
Biggest crock of imagination I've read in a while.

Well, they have already gone after what was the senior base and equipment at UAL. DEN 767T, and A320, SEA 777, SEA 767T, LAX 400. So I'm not sure your theory of bumping from the senior base/equip being "financial and training suicide" is going to make a hoot of difference in their decisions. They may not end up bumping out of IAH, and I hope they don't. I don't want to see ANYBODY bumped.
I agree JSled's bumping chorus is in poor form. There is plenty of douchiness going around on both sides to sink this thread. You didn't need to add to it with you post after the one I quoted above

FOO;
Thee is no mainline growth, but shrinkage. One fleet (76T) is shrinking faster than the 73 fleet is growing, resulting in a net reduction in airframes in the near term.
Retirements? How are those going to reduce the surplus of guppy FO's in Houston? That would take YEARS.
I don't have UAL's long term plan in front of me, and it changes all the time. When you shut most of a fleet down, and shift other flying around (reduce DEN 320 and increase IAH 320), there will be displacements.
I don't wish being bumped on anyone, but it is going to happen. And yes it is painful, for both the company financially, and the affected pilots.
UCH management has made a couple of huge strategic blunders in the last couple of years. Putting both legacy carriers across each others' bases has been massively expensive, and still is. Until they get the mechanics and FA's on board, it will not be fixed and isn't even close. The other is they should have started bumping 76T pilots the day after the SLI.

Well excuse me. You weren't around for all the braggadocios posts from the Black team when 100s of '06-'07 hires were upgrading, many in DEN and ORD. Vspeed, Routemap, MitchRap, SLeeves, CALFO, to name a few. Karma is indeed a *****. I told them that me and my '97 hired perma FOs would leapfrog their arse on the SLI...and we did. Just like I said. I told them there would be bumps....and there are. Just like I said. I'm batting 1000.
I'll just keep watching the seniority so I can SLIDE in where it's best when my Bumptity Bump comes down the way.

As a L-CAL pilot told me during L-UALs darkest days under Chapter 11, there was nothing special about what CAL was doing in the post 9/11 world. It was a slimmed down cost structure that was the product of two previous CH11 filings and desperate measures taken even after that to ensure there wasn't a game over third filing. This is the brilliant business model you speak of? Sounds like the result of every company that files for CH11 and continues as an ongoing concern.
But if talking about paid off arbitrators or other grand conspiracies makes you feel better, have at it. Better yet, prove it in court.

Sad really, oh well not going to argue with him/her or others on the "bring on the bumps" bandwagon, but the lack of empathy and sheer disdain for L-Cal will be his burden to carry at the workplace. I go to work, go home, have a life and get my paycheck, this guy sounds like he lives, eats and breathes this melodrama BS. No bumps here or anywhere around my BES. Sorry if that spoiled your doom and gloom for all L-Cal. Until then, I'll get your walk around and buy the beer

Ha!! PBS is the great equalizer. My line as a Jr Capt. Is really not much different then any of the others. BTW reserve is not that bad either, I did a month this fall and loved it. Hardly flew and I am based at home. I am sure you are happy for me, a fellow pilot living the dream. Congrats on your seniority, I hope you use it to be as happy as I am.

Hopefully that will change. Time will tell but I am not holding out much hope.
