Kind of ironic doncha think?
"Flush" Never been allowed

"Bumps" How many 757s have been parked and how many total bumps have occurred on the fleet?

"Attrition" How many vacancies verse bumps have there been?

"Several years" How often do you think things change around the world in a a year or two that affect long term plans?

Flush....depends on your definition. When too many pilots bump into a BES, secondary and tertiary bumps flush the junior guys right out of their seat, effectively flushing the BES. This has happened many times in my 17 years.

Bumps....about 45- 757s have been parked since the merger. Roughly 88- 757 pilots have been bumped.

Every single solitary DEN 76T pilot is going to get bumped, every single SEA is now officially bumped, more to come, so what is your question again?

Oh I fully expect management to change their long range plan very 15 minutes or so. The really ironic part was all of the LCAL guys informing us that there weren't going to be any bumps NONE nada el zippo! Because Howy said "No bumps, No FLUSH, ATTRITION!" Now you are on here trying to school us on the how and why of bumps?

SEA did not get flushed, they got closed. A flush implies replacing those getting bumped.

When you have an average of only two pilots per parked airplane being bumped, even you have to admit thats a small amount.

Yes it is a small amount. They can't train any more as they are hiring off the street as well. All Den and Ord 76T's will be bumped or BATed at a minimum. Not sure how many will remain in DCA and the left coast. 3-500 more.

And that is something you should be proud of! But don't worry brother, the LCAL side will get to feel some bump pain too.

Cle is not very big either. Couple hundred at most. Doubt it causes secondary displacements, especially since the 737 fleet is growing.

IAH may have survived with the 737 in tact this summer, but I wouldn't expect that to last forever. They still show over 100 pilots fat for the June/July 2015 schedule. Sounds like bumps there next fall.

And that will stink. It really pains me to see pilots being displaced from their domicile of choice, no matter which side they came from or where they are currently based. The gleeful and easy discussion on this post from both sides is an embarrassment. Getting bumped sucks. I know from experience.

Hard to say what is more amazing. The shear unadulterated ignorance or the sickening amount if arrogance shown here. But in either case the true colors are shinning brightly.
