Vacancy 15-03V

However, per the UPA the company may waive any freeze it desires so it is certainly possible for new-hires (or anybody else) to be awarded something that on the surface appears unusual. It all just depends on where the company is projecting it wants pilots.
As always, the only thing that really counts is the final award.

The lUAL side lost that side of the negotiations, but the lUAL pilots voted for the contract for different reasons. Time to move on.
If the tables were turned, the lCAL guys would have been torqued off.
It is over and done with.
FWIW I am glad Sparky gets the upper pay band. We should end up with a very large fleet of them eventually so I am happy that aircraft gets paid more than it otherwise should. We should all benefit from that decision one day.

And if an aircraft "gets paid more than it otherwise should" that means the money is coming from someplace else.

The 777 flying out of ord this month has 10 day, also 6 day fra w and a 8 day gru w along with some other flying. Have been told that some of this will change as we mix metal,I only beleive it when I actually see it here. Could also change when they give away some more of our tags in asia.
The 10 day gets broken up regularly into 2 trips with dh attached.
We also lost pek this month to 400.

Change to get better or even worse?
And for someone on the outside, why does the trip get broken up? Something contractual I'm not seeing or is only in their good will to give more days at home?

The snapshot is "supposed" to be accurate.

If they waive a freeze it should be for anyone to bid INTO a category. (If your seniority can hold it)
Not to waive a freeze in a current category and in turn, let a junior guy move to a base and category the senior guys wants and can certainly hold.
Any info is helpful! Thanks

Where is that language in the UPA. I understand waiving freezes for new hire lateral moves (EWR 320 to SFO 737) and new hire from wide body to narrow body (EWR 756 to SFO 73/IAH320) ... But it seems they are not waiving the freeze for EWR 76t guys.

Up to the company which freezes get waived. They can pick and choose to staff bases and equipment as they see fit.
Not agreeing just another vague part of the contract we were assured after 100 days of waiting that dotting the I's and crossing the T's missed.

I would bet no freezes will be waived if it would require a full course of training. No problem for the company to waive a 76T/756 freeze. That' just a two day event. The company views that as a win/win and likely a cost neutral item.
