Standing in line at a food court, talked to an FA. I asked how the negotiations were going; not so well.
His take was the buyout, in addition eliminating the highest-paid FAs, would also tend to reduce them mostly from one side....which would mean in a vote on integration, it would be easier to get a majority.
I hadn't considered that angle. Pretty nefarious under the banner of "we're excited about this opportunity for our coworkers...."
