Vacation on reserve
As a reserve pilot in a vacation month, is your vacation credit add pay on top of the 73 hour guarantee, or does it simply protect guarantee with the extra days off? Thanks!

As an example, say you have 14 days vacation, 6 days off and 10 days of reserve. (see 5-E-5-b table)
That would be (14 x 3.25) + (10 x 4.055) = 86.05 hrs. assuming you didn't break guarantee during the 10 days.
If you flew more than 40.55 credit during the 10 days, you would then exceed the 86.05 by however much you exceeded the 40.55 (your prorated guarantee)
You could also still do the 5 SC for 3 hr add pay, VDO add pay etc. during the 10 days.

Just when the Christmas bills come due you'll be getting the letter saying they overpaid you several thousand dollars. No worries, they suggest a convenient repayment plan. Just sign here.
