Default EWR 76t OE

Anyone know how long its taking to get OE started on the 76t in Newark? Left TK about 10 days ago and not a peep for the schedulers. Experiences from anyone in the process now are much appreciated.... Not looking to rush it, just trying to estimate some family time.

I couldn't find it in the contract, but am I required to contact them at some point? Ive been told by several folks not to contact them, but I want to make sure I don't step in it accidently.

Nope, not in contract. Enjoy your 24/7 training pay while at home.

Trust me, they will find you when they get to your number.

You can always call them so you can plan your life but that always raises the possibility of placing you back in the forefront.

A simple, "We're looking to take the kids to the beach for a few days, do you see anything imminent?" could even work to your advantage if they say "Nope, you have at least a week." Of course, it could also backfire.

YMMV

Somewhere in the IOE paperwork it specifically states, do not call scheduling or the IOE desk.

My class waited appx. 1 month prior to OE. You can call if you want, but no need to. When we did call, they were up front in letting us know it would be a while. Enjoy the break!

I went through the 76T training in May and I waited 34 days for IOE. I would recommend taking plenty of snapshots of your awarded schedule and periodically check your pay register. I thought the contract was very cut and dry on what they should have paid me for the time that I was waiting for OE. My last paycheck on 7/16 ended up being 22 hours less than I had anticipated. The company has come up with the cheapest solution interpretation of the contract. When you think that you are getting 3 hours per day for waiting for OE, you will be in for a surprise when payroll says you are only going to get 72 or so hours.

There is a group grievance that is in the works.
