Thumbs down Got assigned Doors Training w/ No Pay Credit.

Does anyone know how I was assigned doors training without being able to bid it through my Seniority and also I thought we got paid for all training. They are telling me and I mean Telling me that I am going to get an additional day of vacation for 2015. Did we get rid of ALPA (I WISH) and no one told me, or is ALPA per usual doing nothing to enforce our contract. I talked with the IAH CP office and that was a complete waste of time. Anyone no what the reality of the situation is. Am I giving up a bid day off for a day of vacation that I can't use until a couple of years from now?:

Relax.

This is a great place to work.
This was a win for the American People.
You are lucky to have a job.
Your neighbor would kill to do the training AND your job for free.
The company would never do that.
You don't really fly anyway, the autopilot does everything.
Someday you might get add pay.
You have to look at it from the companies point of view.
This is an industry leading contract.
The company needs the flexibility.

This was announced several months ago. Not new. I had to do the same last month. The direction was to E-mail the Doors people at United.com.

Reprehensible. Basically the only way you might get paid for this is if you were on min days off and they had to drop a trip with pay.

And.....they screwed it up. The doors people told me it would take 45 minutes. So I scheduled DH to and from TK with the 45 minute class. After I got there, I was told it would take closer to an hour and a half for 757's.

In brief, I made a stink about going home and doing it again later, and they got me done in 1 hour, I walked on the DH flight home as they closed the door behind me.

Basically, band aid fix because they can't seem to schedule training without people going non-current. I thought my PC base month was March, I still don't have one going into June. I did call to check, nothing heard back. So, I'll stay at home with pay when they figure out I'm non-current. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do or when.

Contract, we have requirements for training and notification in the contract?

An extra day of vacation is more a punishment then a payment. In order to use that one day, you will be forced into tacking it on to a full week and trying to find a vacation period that spans two bid weeks. This should be, at a minimum, 5 hours of pay.
