If we were the SE Taxi kings and really showed those DAL boys how to do it, what do you think it would have meant to the bottom line? Instead of losing (one o please) 600 Million we would have only lost 595M? Clearly we need to do more and its all on our shoulders.

Jeffs gotta go. And his cheap pizza mentality as well.
Agree fully that Jeff MUST GO... and ALL his mentality with it.

But I must ask what your reasons for NOT trying to improve our SE and fuel conservation performance are. I listed several reasons why it made sense to me to try to do better earlier in this thread. None of them had anything to do with Jeff and the Yes Men Brigade.

It's been comical watching the gas saving procedures touted by the company fail with regard to getting air and power hooked up to the airplane the last few days as we head into warmer weather. I do my best to be efficient, get to the gate, wait for ground power, call ops to ask if they are planning to plug in power and air, get told "we are on it", wait a few minutes while I pack up my stuff, then shrug my shoulders and walk off with the APU running. There are lots of things I can't control, and if the company doesn't want to seriously address those systemic problems so be it! But for the reasons I listed earlier, I know I've done my part. If it gets wasted by this place being all Jeff'ed up then it gets wasted. It is what it is.

I'm all for saving gas. I'm a long time tree hugger and would love to see our PS checks grow larger, not smaller.

I'm all for the company abiding by the concession filled contract they wrestled from us instead of blatantly ignoring it and telling us "grieve it".

I'm all for transparency in trip trading, honoring the FIFO list, paying us what we earned without having to file for it, honoring seniority and not front loading the upgrade list at the exclusion of the blue squad the day before the SLI came out.

I'm all for them not screwing me out of cross towns by including that pay in my reserve guarantee.

I'm all for them reimbursing me for missed crew meals, taxis and the like without fighting them at every turn.

I'm all for them crewing the airline properly and minimizing waste. Take a look at EWR CAP vs FO reserves. Take a look at all the times they've offered 2X pay to Guppy drivers, meanwhile 320 pukes are parked in hotels for 24 hours at a stretch. More waste. Take a look at the 777 guys making insane bucks per month...ditto the 400. More waste.

I'm all for them fixing trip trading. Remember that? Ditto VACA bidding.

I'm all for them running the 32 training day footprint in 32 days, not 52. Talk about wasting money! And they come to us with the big stick, and will soon with hat in hand? KMA!

I could go on, but you get the gist. Its really simple, the more an employer values the employee, the more the employee values the enterprise. This company can't publish anything without it ending with "up to and including termination" at its conclusion. Think SWA got to their posn by hosing their pukes at every turn?

"We don't need labor to make this merger work," Jeff now wants labor to help him dig us out of the red by saving gas. Rich! Maybe if we shut one down at the TOD and fired it back up 20 miles out we could make a dent in 600M.

I could add to the list put it would just be piling on this is the core of the problem and no ivy league educated lawyer will ever figure it out. No life experience, no hard knocks, no social skills, equals not a leader. The problem with being a hard core bean counter is that you forget somebody has to grow, cultivate and harvest those beans before they can be counted.

I dunno, I've had far worse than Jim Beam. Old Crow to name one. That may have been the worst post tippling headache I've ever endured.

Four Roses is mighty fine!

Here's something for your perusal. If you're flush, Mile High Bar in DEN has three different Pappy Van Winkles on the shelf. Nice way to relax after your PC prior to your FC seat home.

I agree with every single thing you said. And I'm just as disgusted with Jeff and his policies and choices as you are. And not 1% of me wants to improve my fuel use for him, or anyone in management for that matter. There are other reasons for me. And if those reasons don't align with yours, fair enough. I understand the other POV and the "screw Jeff, I'm going Mach .82 at FL280 with the APU on all the way!!! I just think there is a bigger picture than that for me personally. And Jeff ain't in it.

Bring on Mullaly!!

GB,

You are definitely not a Marvin. You do your thing and don't try to shove it down someone's throat. Thanks.

Nobody messes with a guy with a neck tattoo.
Not sure if that is a law or just a good rule to live by!

Can't wait to see airplanes cutting the corners taxiing.
Like that will save gas. Next it will be shift into 4wd taxi across grass, mow over all signs and just park it wherever.

Just like my drunk uncle Jim
