Yes "we" could have. "We" are labor. But hey I did not have a guy come in and give me the "truth" in my upgrade class.

Since you feel labor could solve this mess, tell me how labor could have prevented the shares situation? How could labor have prevented prasm destruction by admittedly low fares? These are two big ticket items. If you don't want to tackle those, pick one yourself.

What I am saying is Labor is gonna be needed to get us out of this mess. Either with this guy or whomever replaces him he is gonna need us on board. The toxic relationship that has been festering here for decades is not something anyone is gonna want to come to. Kellner specifically cited the culture at united as a reason he shot down this merger the first time. There are a lot of bad CEO's out there...as a sual pilot you have worked with many. We do not need to continue the same pattern you have been repeating.
There are many ways we can signal that we are ready for good leadership. I'm sure you can think of a few.

I disagree with your toxic environment sentiment. The right person could turn this place around. During a new captains seminar, Sr. Vp's were rotating in and out of the room. Two of them were quite arrogant thumbing their noses at us. In walked Sean Donoghue to a roomfull of very vocal, angry pilots. He left the room to a round of applause. The only applause of the day.
The right person couldn't do it overnight, but he or she could do it.

The right person is gonna want to come here to turn this place around instead of going someplace else where it will be easier to turn that business around.

There was a point in time when if ALL the UA employees worked for free, the company would still lose money. I believe it was post 9-11 during the SARS epidemic. At the rate we're going, I won't be surprised to see it again.
Something for the true believers to consider when glued to the fuel school presentation and while skewering those who may not be so inclined to jump through hoops to help Jeff. As for me, I'm ramping up the savings plan and trying to ignore this place as much as possible. Pay me and leave me alone. Manage the airline properly, kind of like the way we manage the damn machines.
All the Marvins in the world can't save this place if they keep minimizing and then squandering the revenue.

Angels is certainly not cheap, that's a fact. My bargain basement choice is Henry McKenna. Hard to beat at the the state store when its on sale. Not what I like to place in front of guests, but its fine for an evening julep or on the rocks after breakfast.
If we were the SE Taxi kings and really showed those DAL boys how to do it, what do you think it would have meant to the bottom line? Instead of losing (one o please) 600 Million we would have only lost 595M? Clearly we need to do more and its all on our shoulders.
Jeffs gotta go. And his cheap pizza mentality as well.
