The point was that the type of leader we need won't fear the current state of our airline...I don't subscribe to the certain doom just yet. Also, no one will care about the CEOs compensation if he is a strong leader and turns the place around.

Those on this thread are not the first to comment on the toxic relationship this airline has had with MGT. and how attracting a "good" MGT. Team will be hard. It is fairly well known.
They called it the worst job in America over 10 years ago. Not much has changed. If I were a CEO I would run away fast from this place. When was the last good UAL CEO?United Comes Untied - Forbes
All I heard from people before the merger was how all you really wanted was our management. (Actually told that by a guy on a hotel van). Be careful what you wish for !!
I hope you are right I really do and I still want to hear the truth as it was told to you, I think I can handle it.

Did he say something like - we don't really want the pilots but the CAL management can't be any worst than what we have now.
Is it possible you heard it wrong or are you twisting the truth to suit your attack on the LUAL pilots?

Well it has not happen in a Long time. How many Strong leaders were jumping at the chance to come here in the last 2 decades??!
Like I said I am not a fan of Jeff but until we are a little less divisive and a little more inclined to help we will continue to get more of the same or worse.

There's got to be one out there somewhere. I think even among CEOs there's a pecking order. Anyone who turns this company around would definitely move up.

Less divisive and help more? How might we help the company more and dig ourselves out of the morass we find ourselves in? How will our help overcome shares, far 117/crew scheduling, loss of premium passengers, low fares and the destruction of prasm, the war on our contract, 737 training and manpower in general?

Really!!! So I guess you agree with Jeff when he said,"Labor is not required for a successful merger" cause I can think of many ways labor at this company could have helped nearly all of those problems. The fact is any decent manager is gonna realize labors importance. You are naive to think a decent manager is not gonna weigh the horrendous labor relations this group has had over many decades.

Labor could have helped nearly all those problems? Okay.
