I wish I could say the same for the ALPO reps I have met and flown with. They were on the opposite side of the spectrum, and could be described by a word I used in the previous paragraph, twice.
Dear God don't tell me we agree on something. That's it I quit...

Ever since this merger the calls to scheduling or the pilot service center do absolutely nothing. Everyone is afraid to make a decision or just has no idea how to even process the request. Each time the CPO picked up the ball that was dropped by the system. I suppose I could have grieved it but it was so much easier to just pick up the phone and call the CPO.
Todd don't get into w/them!! Not worth it!! Thanks for the 1st post it was interesting.

Toddnel;
I agree with most of what you write. Unfortunately I only seem to post on what I disagree with. Apologies.

Not meant to be a culture war, theirs vs. ours, yours vs. mine, it doesn't matter. The CPO is the face of an ineffective and incompetent upper management, or, the face a competent management with zero integrity. That the guy in EWR has better interpersonal skills than the guy in GUM and has done you a solid is great. My earlier point is that the CPO has the responsibility to uphold the CBA and they collectivley don't have a stellar record.

Well, if they were truly interested in putting this merger into high gear and putting it to bed, then they would settle the contracts between all the other employee groups.

That has not happened, in fact, with the FA's they seem to be going the other way intentionally--Trying to split the groups. Meeting once a month will never solve anything. So much for telling the shareholders the truth. Our front line employees are just pawns to be sacrificed in the eyes of management.

Very true. I personally think that the cultural differences between FA groups will be harder to overcome than any other group. My guess is Jeff is trying to get the numbers up in the CAL side so he ends up with enough votes to pass a contract more like CAL with higher pay but less of the old perks like health insurance for working one trip and two day layovers.

What's this about 9/18 training? Is the 737 going to sim Checkride every 9 months soon instead of 12?

That's how it was on United side right?

Sort of. We did a PC at the 9 month point after initial training, followed by a PT at 18 months. Rinse and repeat. So you really only get "checked" at 18 month intervals but you touch the sim every 9 months. I prefer it, FWIW.
