Seems that UCHs deal w Denver that was negotiated while SWA was working the City of Houston has been forgotten:
United lease savings in Denver approved - 5/4/2012 - Flight Global
Seems pretty savvy and in the Denver base that they want badly. Much easier to route pax east and west through Denver than Houston.

Is my calculator messed up or has my brain done gone suspect? My Andy Jackson is on the latter.
Sorry. Henry has taken over tonight and is messing with my decimal points. Talk amongst yourselves.
ps...what did you think about the bowling and R&R idea???

Kind of like a 35 year long monopoly game. I have been at the table for about 18 years.
I wonder if anybody has a plan in place to grow RJ pilots. With current pay rates, I don't think even opening up the spigot for work visas for foreigners would work as they would take a huge pay cut to fly an RJ.

Yes you did and it was followed by multiple posts with unsubstantiated Denver demise predictions. Thought the link to article which details the deal and mentions it's expiration in 2025 was a worthy follow up.

Before ya'll get carried away with the DEN base closing notion....know that DEN has more mainline daily depts than LAX or IAD, and 5x as many as CLE. Denver has deathstar alliance 747 service to FRA and mainline 787 service to NRT. In 2012, UAL and the city of Denver worked out a deal to forgive 100M in debt (not a typo) if certain growth parameters are met. SWA threatened a lawsuit to stop that deal. DEN ain't going nowhere, SEA on the other hand....
