Back to the subject of the vacancy bid. Which wall in the CCS cave will I find the latest vacancy awards carved? I can't seem to find them.

Bidding is in CCS. The award is in Flying Together, Flight Operations, Staffing. Go figure.

I was pleased with this vacancy bid. I just wanted anything that would get me back to DC. I got the 76T and I'm really looking forward to some time in Denver. I've been flying the 737 in EWR for the past 18 months. Ewr 737 has the best flying in the system and I think many of the L-UAL guys have started to figure that out judging by the high seniority #s of the ones bidding into Newark.

The crews have been fantastic in Newark. I've only run across 2 guys that i would prefer not to fly with in the future. That's about par for the course.

I'd say that about half of my new hire class got the 76T in ORD. I think there are only one or two from my original class that have not returned yet. They are still flying overseas. But those of us that are back...I'd say 75% are now gonna be in the domiciles where they want to be / where we were furloughed out of.

Now I feel like my furlough is over. Now the movement has started that the UAL guys have been waiting for for over 10'years. I'm going to enjoy it while I can. No telling when it could turn south again!

The flying is the best in EWR, however it is the most junior base for a reason. They will learn the hard way.

Great to see a post with focus on the positive! We will all see upward movement that's been sorely lacking.
Time to focus on external threats like Norwegian Long Haul and their scouring the market for low cost contract labor, as well as the customs pre-clearing facility in Abu Dhabi. They will both cause multiple copy cats ...

I am wondering why the company is staffing so many people on the 76T? The latest CPU from EWR said that the plan is to park half of L-UAL 757 by the end of the year. It seems strange to me that if we are going to do this why did we have a bid for so many into that aircraft and 65 vacancies in EWR on it.

I probably shouldn't even try to figure out why management does anything around here.

It's good to hear that you got back to DC. The flying is great in EWR, but not worth a commute.
