Open Trip Alert.... FUBAR
Little help here please..... So I'm trying to put in a request to be alerted to trips that come open in January. Let's say I want all trips for the month that come open to trigger an alert to my cell or email. I fill in the form, putting in fleet seat domicile, leave the duration blnk because I want all trips regardless of days, and a date range of Jan 1-Jan 31. When I submit it I get an error message saying I need to review the rules below and I can ONLY enter 1 specific day if I leave the trip length/characteristics undefined. Ummmmm..... What good does that do????? Here are the "rules" listed below. Does anyone else see this?? Is there no way to get all open trips sent as an alert?
Thanks in advance!!
You must select a base, equipment, and position.
If you provide the number of pairing days to search for
and a 5 character pairing number, you can enter a range of up to 31 days.
and the first 4 characters of a pairing number to search for, you can enter a range of up to 14 days.
and the first 3 characters of a pairing number to search for, you can enter a range of up to 7 days.
and 2 or fewer characters of the pairing number to search for, you can enter a range of up to 4 days.
If you do not provide the number of pairing days to search for
and provide a 5 character pairing number, you can enter a range of up to 14 days.
and provide the first 4 characters of a pairing number to search for, you can enter a range of up to 7 days.
and provide the first 3 characters of a pairing number to search for, you can enter a range of up to 4 days.
and 2 or fewer characters of the pairing number to search for, you must enter a specific day to search for (i.e. From and To Date must be equal).
Thanks in advance!!

If you are entering just two characters in pairing number (ie E3) for all EWR 756 trips, you can only enter one day at a time in the date range. The more characters you put in the pairing number box, the wider day range it will allow. You can make multiple entries, not sure what the limit is.

For example, H5___ for Houston 737.
It will then allow a date range input of 14 days for a pairing lengths. You can do a couple of these to cover the whole month.

How about just two? You can trick the system by putting into the trip data field the letter and first numeral of the pairings for your base followed by 3 underscores.
For example, H5___ for Houston 737.

I put in an L with 4 underscores in case there are trips like L7203A....that should work right?

Haven't tried it that way. It might need the equipment designation as well. If there's more than one plane type in your base you would get alerts for other equipment types. In my example H is Houston and 5 is 737. You can see the other single-numeral designations for equipments in the Equipment pulldown on the trip shopping page.
