That's good to hear. I was hoping that we didn't park a great system only to keep a crappy one. Based upon what I was hearing prior to the bid coming out, it sounded like most liked the UAL system.

It's probably about the same. PBS is great if you're super senior. Lousy if you're super junior, and average if you're in the middle. Of course it costs us vacation override regardless of which system, which is the big loss.

The biggest difference I see between the two is that the old system was easier to "massage". You could put in more criteria without risking running into the H category, this telling PBS you wanted as many of this type of trip as it can give you. There's probably a way around that, but I haven't figured it yet

Good luck finding it, I have spent years with this system and the only overriding theme I have come to discover is that the more massaging you do the worse schedule I get. Since then I keep it easy only requesting days off and ranking cities in order.

I have no real complaints. The thing that I do like about the new pbs is that as a commuter, I am able to request trips that start at other base locations that are commutable.

Under the old UAL system, the only way to do this was to bid individual trios.

I did screw up one issue but that was my fault and I didn't get the one day off that I needed for a requal......

All I can say is....REAL NICE. High 80s block. Weekends off. 17 days off. AND a couple of flying trips!! haha. My guess is some senior guys failed PBS 101. Only in America.

Enjoy it while it lasts! For a few months those who have taken the time to understand PBS will get a virtual bump in seniority over those who don't understand it. Their learning curve will increase dramatically though after suffering under junior lines for a few months. Too bad it has to be this way.
