If you can't live on 100 grand a year when the poverty line is 27 thousand "family of 4" then you have bigger problems.
Dude unless you live in bumf%#k Oklahoma even a 100,000 a year with kids doesnt cut it. Welcome to 2013. That family living on 27k a year is living pretty bad, and I'm supporting the lazy bast@&ds. I was raised where if you want to be successful and have financial security you WORK. Worked for my dad, works for me. Lots of guys work a lot harder for less then I pull in.
Doesn't cut it when Daddy also has a Harley payment, a boat payment, etc.

I'll disagree because I've done it. Called living within your means.
Yeah I couldn't afford a Harley, Donzi, mooney, and a vacation house. But we were far far far from poor, never went without and quite comfortable. We even had electricity..Can you imagine...
Oh and I was an airline pilot doing it.
So if that made me unsuccessful then I guess you nailed me. Never needed a handout from anyone.

But why live like that if you don't have too?? I work to put my kids in great private schools, I don't have a pile of toys, but ill work hard to provide, I'd do jr manning in a heartbeat if I could, more power to those guys. That's America, work hard and succeed, don't make it seem like something dirty.

Nothing wrong with hard work at all. I guess I just value time off with family more than some extra coin.
I figure the company owns me for half the month. I'll give my family the other half. Although they should have more
But hey each their own. It's all good man

I've had a Harley since I was in my early thirties. Guess I hit the mid-life crisis early. Oh wait, I got a sport bike in my forties, maybe I went through two mid-life crisis. I can't wait for my fifties....Corvette here I come.

"Senior Manning opportunities may be available on Dec 21 - 22, for 737 Captains (except Guam). If interested, call Crew Scheduling and let them know."
They never just come right out and say we're understaffed for the whole Christmas season, or the Spring, or the Summer. It's day by day, like whistling in the dark, under the self delusion that maybe there isn't a problem.
