"FIFO grievance resulted in all Jan reserves getting 2 days of vacation as well as the FIFO fix. Curtain grievance award pays 5 hrs add pay if not in compliance... Are u not paying attention or just incapable of giving any credit where it's due?" - Chris JT6

Not to mention the grievance win this week. This crap will clearly take time and the efforts of everyone. Do your part. For starters, just say no and enforce your contract like a Honey Badger on meth. Push back. Wear your pin. Jeff loves seeing slick ties. A cohesive front is a start. Pouting and whining won't get us anywhere but mo' worser off.

ALPA is not going to magically swoop in overnight and fix this crap. And if everyone goes Casper Milquetoast for Jeff, we'll never get anywhere.

But honestly, did LUAL ever have a management that was so intentionally incompetent and dismissive of any dignity and respect towards labor as the one LCAL brought to the merger? Has this been anywhere near what you've had in the past?

I mentioned something about this institutionalized incompetence not too long ago in regards the the inability of the company to understand the range capability of an airplane. IE the 757s and Europe. Apparently it's only okay to bring this up if you are an LCAL guy because I was informed here that I full of it and was taken as an insult......

Ahh but if we can shift the blame from LCAL management to LUAL. Pilots and ALPA then it's okay to mention the obvious and blatant incompetence that was brought in with Jeffy's crew. Is that it?

The new combined UAL ALPA has been heads and shoulders more successful than CALALPA when dealing with the company. Credit where credit is due.

No Hoss, for most of us the current management at current UAL used to be lower LCAL management Pre-merger!! The upper guys got out right before the merger!! Jeff did not get the CEO job until right before the merger. I think the smart ones saw what was coming down the road. I think what sets LCAL guys off is when LUAL guys say "these LCAL way of doing things are crap!!" It was not like this at LCAL prior to the merger. There were issues but, in general things worked!! I'm sure it's the same when you hear a LCAL guy say "these LUAL policies sure do stink" and you think to yourself no they were just fine prior to all this merging stuff. I think what the company did that was a HUGE mistake was try to be politically correct!! Instead of just taking a system that works (LUAL or LCAL) and say here "it's worked along time, learn it!!" they decided to reinvent the wheel on almost EVERY issue. Just think about the minor issues pilot uniforms (strips on jacket LCAL, strips on tie LUAL), plane paint job (LUAL name, LCAL color and tail). They can't do anything EASY!! It's just so frustrating, since I think it could be SO much easier!!

I am not sure who brought the incompetence to the merger, but I guarantee you lUAL brought managements' virile hatred toward labor.

Whoever is responsible for the incompetence, it is truly staggering, however. I have never seen anything like it on an organizational level.

Well then, given LUAL's labor hatred along with LCAL's talk-to-the-hand dismissiveness it's no wonder so much is going wrong. The only thing holding this thing together is the professionalism of the line workers.
