Does this BAT supersede them opening a new base where one doesn't exist? For instance, in LA there is no 757-300 base using old sCAL equipment. Will the BAT allow pilots already staffed on the sUAL 757 fleet to block other Pilots who aren't there yet? I realize that the idea of separate fleets is lame but if that's how the company wants to handle it then shouldn't it be available for all Pilots, (not just 757 ones), to bid?

Maybe I'm reading into this wrong but again, if the base is expanding, then EVERYBODY should be allowed to bid it.

And the hits just keep on coming.

PS> The new 'BAT' for the (LCAL) 756 BES and the (LUAL) 76T category basically allows the company to displace pilots between the two without actually having a Displacement! And our union agreed to it~
So if you had won the election, how would you communicate this to your constituents?

For iah, the base is not expending, it allows 76t pilots to bid 756 within the same base and vice versa.
Since iah is not expending, for every 76t who gets a BAT to 756 there will be 1 756 who will be "moved" to the 76t either voluntarily or involuntarily. Unless the company decides to run one side fat and keep the 756 guy in his spot. Net number of pilot for the hole 756/76t iah base is the same.

If the base is expending they would post the vacancies in the vacancy bid which would be open for anyone to bid like jfk 76t for the bid closing tomorrow.

For lax, upa next step 10 addresses your question page 8.

If lax 76t has 100 ca and the company wants 70 76t ca and 30 756 ca, then 30 of the current 76t will take those spots

If the base is expending and the company wants to go from 100 76t ca to 90 76t ca and 30 756 ca then there would be a vacancy posted for 20 756 ca in lax, open for anyone to bid.

How/ why would this person (won't use your word) clamor over you as you are seated in 4A?
I don't agree with the arbitrator's decision, or reasoning for it, but let's stick to the facts.
If anything, you would have to clamor over the other person to use the lav, or swap.
ALPA grieved the company's interpretation, and the arbitrator sided with the company.

One time coming back from CPH, 4B was occupied by a super-model. She must have been at least 6'2" tall.

Needless to say, I was barely able to close my eyes. All I wanted to know was how long did it take her to shave those legs.

Yes, I know what you meant. In our old contract it was under section 8-L-6. I believe the new language is the same. They have to run out of reserves in base before they can build trips for reserves out of base. That is not happening much these days, at least not on the 76T. Denver, for instance, has more rsv lines than hard lines on the 76T.
