Bases and Seats...

From a CP update,
"There will be 130 fewer 50-seat aircraft in our schedule by the end of the year. We will be a bigger mainline airline in three to five years."
Also heard we've gone from 760 to 1000 hires this year.

...I need to advise our IAH B737 Captains and First Officers that we expect there will be a sizable displacement on that fleet after summer. This is part of our work to align staffing levels with our flying in each base. It will likely impact a lot of pilots, whether by being displaced out of fleet and seat or by going from lineholder to reserve. I don't have any actual numbers yet, which will depend on our forecasted summer 2016 flying...

I'm expecting 30-40% redux in IAH. What is bothersome is there is no talk of adding as much of the bus to IAH so it is a levelling swap of frames. Really don't expect a redux in IAH but I can't say as I have not heard the final plan yet.

767: (Scott Naumann) Watch out for a 71-hour layover in CDG on the April 5 and 6. Also, we expect to see a 756 pilot base in SFO this fall. All 76T pilots will be trained by April, 2016. Thirty-five 76T and 15 757PS aircraft are scheduled to be converted to 756 beginning this September.

No problemo! I'll post the exact verbiage. I took it to mean fall 2015

It'll probably be exactly the same size as it is now. 756 planes will now be staffed by SFO crews and the remaining 15?? 76T 757 will be parked.
