Third Quarter 2013

Delta had the employee groups working "Together" years ahead of where we are. Maybe management by intimidation isn't working out like Jeff wanted....Delta is no longer a valid comparison.
Flight Attendant combined contract and seniority are no where in sight. Synergies? Yeah right. Give me a break.

Jeff in his efforts to run this like a business and not an airline has forgotten the fact that we are indeed an airline. We have taken away all the little things that allowed us to enjoy an 11%+ revenue bonus while Delta has added them and now enjoys the bonus. It's not hard to see that people will not pay extra for less.

I just have to laugh. I think of all the blow back on this board after I posted one article in 2012 and another recently written by a guy whose articles are posted on the Motley Fool site. All sorts of "his credentials are worthless, he doesn't know anything," type of comments on here in response. Well so far Mr. Knownothing has been on the mark. Welcome to the reality of once again working for a fundamentally weak company vs. the competiton guys. The one that will be down on its knees before all others when the next crisis hits. Better plan on sticking the extra 8.5% in the bank for starters. Sorry, the "but we are 2 years behind Delta" excuse is no longer a valid excuse given the size of the disparity.
Top it off with the growing problem coming at us from the Middle East.

We the pilots are already paid 8.5% less than our closest competitor that outperformed UCH by over 300% in the 3rd qtr. The Concession stand is closed but our pockets are open waiting for our additional 8.5% increase in a few months.
Go attack the markets, not the employees for extra revenue!

My two .02 pence
When Delta merged with NW, they pretty much threw the Delta playbook to NW and said, welcome to Deltr.
Ucon, said "we are a merger of equals."
I am not going to get into that urinating contest....
So, they decided to spread the pain with taking and giving between both entities so that we ALL had to change our way of doing business by learning new procedures or SOP's. I am not talking just the piloten....
We have a multitude of jobs that have changed not from the UAL or CAL way, but to some b******* procedures in between. Again, I am not just talking of the piloten, talk to your coworkers, listen to the hell they are going through. Not specific to either legacy either.
Our geniuses have allowed change just for the sake of change. Some of this change is to a worse way of doing things than either legacy had pre merger.
Delta made 1.4 B because they saw the value of having employee contracts in place at the outset of their merger and they knew better than to try to change and get rid of the processes of BOTH carriers that were established and improved upon over the decades.
Yes, they changed some things at Delta but the the airline is DELTA.
We are United/Continental holdings. What the hell is that?
Our CASM and revenue problems lie squarely at the heels of those in management who thought they were rocket scientists.
Well, the financial condition of UCH proves otherwise.
This merger was **** up from the out set when they didn't decide to go with one carriers procedures of the others with minor changes.
Anyway, that's my rant after a four day...
