But the ultimate arrogance is that you choose to complain about the very pilots you will be working with, and apparently, you expect to be flying internationally as a plebe. I'll point out that at this moment, you aren't a New Hire, you aren't a Half-Wing Probationary guy, and you aren't a trainee. You are nothing to United, the company, just a prospect. To the pilots of United who read this, you are potentially something even less.
News flash: we didn't think you left the regionals to lower your life's expectations. None of us would be here if we didn't think it was going to get us away from something worse. We know your life sucked in the regional. Let us complain about ours.
You have two ways out of this predicament, as I see it. 1) Recognize you overstepped your bounds, and if it was meant as a joke, it didn't go over well with the crowd. Offer your mea culpa and move on. 2) Try to disappear, because someone on this forum will find out who you are, and your name will get forwarded to the wrong people....say, Kru Kruger?

You're sending a mixed-message, Stud: first you call attention to the thread's title, then both laud it and denigrate it by saying you will be the ball, and it builds unity, but it is a "stupid cheesy tradition..."

I think I flew with this guy last week at my crummy regional! I tried to be happy for the guy but his attitude was crap. Almost hurt myself rolling my eyes. I have my stuff in with UAL but this guy and a couple other guys I know getting hired, really made me wonder what was up with the hiring process.

Sorry, had a few drinks outside and not meant to come across as insult. I've read people talking about the stupid ball tradition and I think it's great to have that. It was meant to come across as an embracement of it and look forward to it. Just want out of regional life and on to something better. That is all.

Getting back on topic, I should add that I think the 8-ball tradition is awesome. I have had a few UAL guys talk about it on the jumpseat. I am always amazed at the ridiculous things grown men and women can come up with in the name of esprit de corps! Recently had an FO telling me about the shellback ceremony from his Navy days. Had me rolling! Same with the 8-ball!

Sorry I was drunk is a pretty lame excuse. Do you often say and do regrettable things when you're drunk? Nice way to start off, sorry I'm a loud mouthed drunk and when I drink the truth comes out. Actually I hate you guys and am living the past bringing my envy and inferiority baggage with me.
Is that it in a nutshell?
