8-Ball Ceremony in DEN tonight!

I do, unlike you I was in Kindergarten in 1983 when the strike happened. I really don't care.
You will be surprised who will cross a picket line if we ever strike. Some of the most vocal "scab haters" will be the first ones across since lots of them don't have skills to make other income.

I get the whole traditions while in a war zone. You have to have something to divert your attention away for a little bit.
The airline environment is far from a war zone and traditions like the 8 ball thing are lame.
Maybe if the legacy UAL pilots spent more time on customer service and getting their non-pilot co-workers into customer service, their airline wood have been stronger. Oh wait, thinking like that makes me a company boy or management boy or scab in training.... What else??
New tradition for everyone: Great customer service, efficient flying, large profit and more contract negotiating power.

I get it that you want to do anything you can to help the company, like waiving the contract, letting the crew desk push you around, and letting the scabs know that they are welcome.
I can see why you think traditions are lame. You don't get it, and you came from a scab culture where scabbing is the tradition. We saw during the SLI that many CAL pilots think its all about them. We still see that.
Lets just hope you are never my FO.

My job is to fly airplanes safely. I don't load bags like you, or help out the CSRs like you, or go back and server drinks like you.

CAL pilots made less money, and had no work rules, for 30 YEARS because of the actions of scabs. You didn't get the work rules back until UAL ALPA negotiated them, for you, last year.
You all had worse careers because of scabs. I would submit they even lowered the bar a bit for the whole industry in the US.
They took money out of all of your pockets to jump the queue.
Have dinner with them? I would sooner kick them in the nads. For me, this also includes the "570" as they also applied for, interviewed for, and accepted a job to fly struck work. And they got to keep their seniority number, at the head of the queue.
