Let's get this thread back on-track; about the 8-Ball.

This is not a thread about us/them/union/scab.

The 8-Ball started as an "us" thing, but now it can be a WE thing. I see it, and not liking Smizek, as two of the most unifying rallying points we have right now.

Let the ball do its job. I hope Delta still has "The Plug," in like-fashion.

Hmmmm...then why spend any time on APC?

Do you really think that one guy's opinion means anything? I could give you just as many or more for every guy who feels like this.

Here is one for example:

Merger angst: Will United ruin Continental?

Ask a Continental Airlines frequent flier what he thinks about the United merger, and there's a good chance you'll hear some version of "United is going to ruin Continental." Most of my own mileage is on Continental, and I am already seeing it happening; I've had two trips in the past week, and a long haul to Asia coming next week, all on United/Continental (or whatever they are calling it today). Unfortunately, changes for the worse are already evident, particularly in the attitudes of the employees.

Waiting in the "elite" boarding line for a delayed flight while the agents mishandled just about everything (and everyone), I heard road warriors commiserating:

"There goes the airline."

"goodbye, Continental."

"I knew United was going to screw it up."

"Anyone want to trade 300,000 miles on another airline?"

Continental typically rates among the top US carriers in customer satisfaction, while United historically scores towards the bottom. In fact, depending on the data you look at, the only place United is typically first or second is in complaints received.

Opinions are like um...mouths. Everyone has one.

Edit: Ok sorry T38. I like the 8 ball idea, sounds like fun.

CAL had great customer service and was losing money. UAL had terrible customer service, and was profitable.

Get over it. SLI is done so the talking points are all moot.

The following is from “The Keepers of the Ball”:

Fellow Pilots,

We are excited to be welcoming new pilots weekly to our United pilot family. As tradition is a very important part of our careers, we are proud to continue the time-honored 8-ball ceremony. We would like to extend an invitation to everyone to come and join us in our celebration if the opportunity ever arises to do so. The rite of passage of the sacred orb will take place in Characters Bar in the Doubletree Hotel directly across the street from DENTK. Socializing will be from 6:00-7:00, the official ceremony will be at 7:00, and then the rest of your night's plans will be up to you! Starting on January 7th, the ceremony will be held every Tuesday (their first day at United). Because of the holidays, the schedule is a little different some weeks in November and December....the dates are below.

October 8
October 15
October 29
November 5
November 12
November 16
December 3
December 10
December 14
December 27

Hopefully we will see you there for the festivities and fun with our new-hires!!!!

Fraternally,
The Keepers of the Ball

He is correct.

As far as real names, I am Sean Roth ad I approved this message.

And by the way, I like working at the New UAL. Money, trips and time off are good.

I don't waste my time being a scab hater, I will leave that to all of you. I do hope we strike someday, so we can see the true hypocrisy behind these screen names. You won't see me crossing the line because I can actually make money elsewhere.

Go ahead and give my name to the "wrong people", I can handle it.

Yea Sean;
Sounds like you can make money elsewhere. I am not sure you can count collecting LTD money as a second career, buy hey,it sounds like you have a gift for it.

Oh sorry, you were also a real estate mogul.

So why come back to pull gear?

Every Tuesday?

That seems like a good sign in reference to 2014 hiring.

And yet it's a group of CAL pilots raising funds to overturn the ISL. Weird.

(And no, I don't think anybody "won")
