8-Ball Ceremony in DEN tonight!

I do, unlike you I was in Kindergarten in 1983 when the strike happened. I really don't care.
You will be surprised who will cross a picket line if we ever strike. Some of the most vocal "scab haters" will be the first ones across since lots of them don't have skills to make other income.

Must of lied your *** off during the interview. But I'm sure your interview captain would be glad to remedy the situation once he finds out how you really feel about your almost new company.
Sorry I was drunk is a pretty lame excuse. Do you often say and do regrettable things when you're drunk? Nice way to start off, sorry I'm a loud mouthed drunk and when I drink the truth comes out. Actually I hate you guys and am living the past bringing my envy and inferiority baggage with me.
Is that it in a nutshell?

Humility, Humility, Humility. Can't say that enough and welcome aboard.

Sorry, had a few drinks outside and not meant to come across as insult. I've read people talking about the stupid ball tradition and I think it's great to have that. It was meant to come across as an embracement of it and look forward to it. Just want out of regional life and on to something better. That is all.

C'mon Hoss, the guy apologized and it seemed fairly sincere. Take these guys advice Stud and ditch the attitude. While your at it I'd dumpt the "Stud" moniker as well as it speaks volumes. Many of us flew at the regionals too and our planes weren't cushy barbie jets.

I was being sincere as my initial post was not an insult. Like I stated I am embracing the ball traditions as traditions help build unity. And the "stud" thing is not what it appears to be. When I played soccer in college a group of us who were flying had to miss practice a bunch so we had a saying for practice..."Soccer Training Under Darkness"... as some of us would train middle of the night in the weight room etc...
Getting that phone call was one of the most humbling things(besides my kids being born) and I am pumped to get there and join you guys.
So lets put this to rest and move on to the 8ball again and wil be honored to carry the tradition is it is bestowed upon me.

Meh
I can understand traditions etc..but most of these things are for impressionable young types, ie. military, college frats etc...not to disparage those groups... but those arenas are tough to make it through without support groups as the hazing or 'rituals' take a toll on the new recruits.
This is a professional airline, not a ritualistic trial. You go to class, study, take the tests, and go to work. The glory days and glamour of aviation are over. I'm older and have no time for antics. I go to work and collect a paycheck. Call me old and stodgy or antisocial. Whatever.
You want to carry around a bowling ball, by all means go for it. It just looks juvenile and silly to me.

I just had the pleasure of jump seating on a SW "Honor Flight" that was bringing a group of 50 or so WWII vets back from DC. One of the guys I talked to was a fellow Marine and had Zero kill in a FU-4. These guys had the youngest carry a bottle around and were giving him mass ****. The point, you are never too old to have fun.
