You will keep your pay. MAYBE get a bump.Depends on when in 08 you were hired and your place on the list relative to a CAL pilot...

No; Since you have Continental 2008 hires ahead of you, you now have the same pay longevity of the first 2008 hire ahead of you. Pilots furloughed from CAL all got made whole (i.e. all furlough time counts for pay longevity). United furloughees only get as much as the closest 2008 Continental guy ahead of him.

LOA 25: "and provided further that the application of such additional credit does not result in any s-United pilot having a pay longevity date that is earlier than the pay longevity date of the next most senior s-Continental pilot"

Soooooo, Former Continental guy: ALL furlough time counts towards pay longevity. United furloughee: some counts, some does not (i.e. as an Aug 2000 hire I have 4 years on the property and nine years on furlough; 1 of those years counts towards pay longevity as I have been integrated behind a pilot who was hired in 2008 at Continental, so I will come back on 5th year pay....so will you.)

In summary: All furlough time was not created equal, and we'll be getting shown the door out of new seniority order should a furlough come down the pipe in the next five years, so you're on a seniority list, but not really ON a seniority list....for now...but don't worry....there's no chance that there'll be a furlough in the next five years....

You will have an adjusted longevity to 2/2008. That's the Cal pilot ahead of most 11/07 hires

Thank you for clearing that up guys. After reading that through a few more times that's kind of what I figured as well. Oh well, I'm so close to the bottom that I can't foresee myself coming back anytime soon. One hiccup and back on the street. No thanks.

If you accepted a position at CAL, Andy Chen did say that you will receive all credit for combined time at CAL and UAL, even if it exceeds the CAL pilot senior to you.

I know who he is and what he has done, but he is the party responsible for communicating with United furloughees.
