Not quite correct. Tim Boyens was also nominated for S/T.
Also Tara only had five votes less then Leneski. Pretty pathetic that the CAL side had such a terribly low voter participation. We have almost 2000 pilots based in EWR and UAL has just over 200. I will say this the UAL side is far more unified and has their stuff together than our pathetic pilot group.

If there's one thing I believe in its credibility. Don't say one thing then do another. Please let's make this union credible. Oh, and for the love of Baby Jesus get rid of us wearing our hats United guys. PLEASE!!!!!

"Dear Lord Baby Jesus, we'd also like to thank you for my wife’s father Chip. We hope that you can use your baby Jesus powers to heal him and his horrible leg. It smells terrible and the dogs are always bothering with it...and please use your heavenly powers and assist the United guys in their quest to relieve us from wearing these ugly hats...and thank you again for my smokin' hot wife......

Or maybe the fact that I was so upset about our union leaders in EWR because during these last contract talks they were against it, then flip flopped their mind and let it go through to a vote. I'd say that most of us EWR CAL pilots are disappointed in the current regime and want them out. I know that I do.
Having that effect voter turnout in a new election, absolutely pathetic! Like I said, L-UAL kicks our a$$ in this regard. We have some of the most lazy apathetic union pilots out there period. Our union committee's/volunteers have no bench (that is why we have the same volunteers no one else steps up to replace them), not the same on the L-UAL side. We can learn a lot about this from L-UAL.

This is a 'Cut & Paste' from what I posted on CALForums the other day...
So.. enjoyed a nice day in Berlin. Visited the InvalidedFriedhof (Graves of 'Molders, Richthofen, Udet, etc..) had an enjoyable dinner and had a Bier!
Now that my part in the election is over, I will say two things.
1) Yes, I'm disappointed that I didn't make the Ballot. I feel that I have/had a lot to offer with regards to Representing this New, combined Pilot Group. I really wanted to represent the pilots of NY AND try and fix/change things.
As it turned out, I didn't get enough nominations. So life will go on.
But what really disappointed me is the number of ballots counted.
On the FO side, 327!
Out of a base with over 2100 Council 170 Pilots.. and about 260 UAL Pilots.. only 327 pilots took the time to vote.
That is less than 15%!
Of the 327 that did nominate someone, Rob S got more than half the votes!
To me, that says something.
It says that even thought the LUAL Base is small, they probably had a much much higher percentage of participation than we did.
B) The way we do/did things is wrong.
No Internet nomination process. Snail Mail!
And then, I was told that three sealed Ballots that were left in my VFile would not be counted. So three pilots who got their ballots late, and couldn't get them in the mail before last Thrus had their ballots not count. Again.. sad.
No ALPA Mailbox at the crew room so even if guys wanted to do the right thing, the system makes it hard if not impossible.
Oh well..
I am glad that I ran, and I am glad that Tara is no longer in the running. I am shocked that somehow Tim Boyens is listed for SecTres again!
We will now have a week before the Election Balloting Process opens. I hope that the two FO candidates somehow release more info about their plans going forward. I will reach out to Rob S and Mark B see if we can utilize this Forum for some sort of Election Comm Process.
But then again, I wonder if it really matters?!
To those pilots who nominated me and supported me, thank you. For those who didn't.. oh well. But at least I hope you were involved in the process. For the rest who b*t*h and moan about the system yet didn't take the time to fill out and mail in a nomination ballot- how do you think things will ever change? Unless of course you don't, and therefore have resigned yourself to accepting ALPA for the way it is.
Always

PS> Met a pilot in EWR yesterday before my trip who told me he supported me but didn't mail the ballot in?! LOL
