I also see a handful of guys spend a lot of time briefing the engine out procedure in conjunction with an all-engine approach. It seems excessive to me. What are the chances of actually going around and then losing an engine on the go? If you actually lose an engine prior to an approach...you brief it then. It seems anal to brief every possible contingency.
I say, keep the briefs short and relevant. As the weather gets worse or a malfunction is present...then by all means, talk in more detail.

I've flown with quite a few guys that are new to the left seat on Cal side. They tend to be more wordy on the briefs. Beyond the first 30 seconds, nothing seems to be heard.
