Not true. CAL shareholder given stock in UAL. UAL survived.

I'll believe the 8-K filing over a Wiki article written by a French model.
-"providing for the merger of United with and into Continental (the "Merger")"
-"Upon the closing of the Merger on March 31, 2013, Continental's name was changed to "United Airlines, Inc.""
And that's why you're now flying an airplane with the Continental paint scheme, but United's name. They should have called the merged airline UNO: United in Name Only

You may want to do a bit of your own "Clouseau" to see the Certificates origin.....The answer will seal the point in LAX's "false ways".
BTW.....Have you ever heard of the term "dba" as it states on the link I posted above?? UAL "doing business as" under CAL's Operating Certificate.
I know you may hate it, but the name still lives

Every day that UNITED AIRLINES operates the name Continental moves farther to the background. Just the way things work. You can be proud of the name but that name and airline are gone. Sorry!
The merger was done on the cheap and the results of that we see and experence everyday.

Continental was reborn under Greg, Greg, and Gordon, and Larry was lucky enough to ride their momentum. The Cal BOD wanted the merger, Larry resigned instead of doing it, and J-Lo will have the merger with United as his failed legacy.
Continental's name was retired with pride.

Yes. Except CAL has about 7 times as many scabs and about 3,000 less pilots. So as a percentage CAL has a ton of scabs. Did you see how many left the room when Hitler told the scabs to leave? There you go.
