Let's hope so! I hope regional service gets so bad mainline will have to take it back.

Unfortunately, it'll probably just be fodder to let foreign carriers operate domestically...i.e. 'We'll outsource it because they can do it cheaper!'

Pax love their $100 airfare and don't care who's up front.

No pilot should work for $25 an hour and the fact that Delta has the ability to force some carriers close to that level is both a threat to mainline pilot's future bargaining power and a cause worthy of all our attention. How did our politics bring us to this point? What can we do as individuals to alter the course of events? Today's educated pilot will quickly explain that "market forces" dictate our pay, but that is not the whole story nor the whole truth.

Do you think that it is ok for any 12 year pilot to make $37 an hour?

No I don't think it's ok. But my point is that you're bringing this up as if it's a ground breaking thing when it flat out isn't. What Delta did to Pinnacle is nothing new. Take a look at regional pay now. It's been terrible for years!!! Commutair pays FOs $32 tops. GoJets pays $38 tops. Silver Wings pays $35 hours tops. PSA pays $41 tops, & they just got a new contract!! Compass pays $44. Mesa pays $37. TranStates pays $41. The list goes on and on. These are all max FO longevity rates. Some contracts are less then 2 years old which actually resulted in raises. The reason Pinnacle wages were driven down is because they were to be brought down to what is considered industry standard. So all Delta management did was bring them back in line with many other carriers.

So while I don't disagree that the wages suck, what you have posted isn't really isn't groundbreaking news. This has been going on for years. That's all I'm trying to point out.

Ahhh, and with this sentiment I must DISAGREE.

To me the point is that the TREND was up for regional pay and down for regional ASMs but Delta's contractual ability to FORCE payrates lower is a huge competitive advantage that impacts all of us. The answer may be that on this point we disageee

That sounds just like what UAL did to Atlantic Coast Airlines & Air Wisconsin less then 15 years ago. Like I said, it's nothing new.

What concerns me more is that Alaska pilots just ratified a TA which provides ZERO scope protection outside of 737s on property and on order at DOS. You think allowing 76 seaters is bad? How about this?
