Default New s-UA 737 Base to Open in November.

Surprised no one is talking about this . . .

The following is from System Schedule Committee Chairman Captain Jeff Nooger.

Crew Resources has Issued two Notices of Proposed Decision Making (NPDMs) to the System Scheduling Committee, NPDM 13-01, 757 Aircraft Reduction and NPDM 13-02, New 737 Aircraft Deliveries.

NPDM 13-01 concerns the reduction in domestic flying across existing bases due to the retirement of 757-200 aircraft while NPDM 13-02 envisions establishing a domicile for a new 737 equipment type for s-UA. The replacement s-UA aircraft is planned to commence revenue operations in November of 2013.

I apologize for my ignorance.. but does SFO have a 756 base, and if so.. how big?
Sounds like in the near (and long) term, a guppy SFO base will benefit both sides~

I know they are parking the 75-200's except for the PS ones. At what rate are they parking them? Given that those are half the 756 fleet are pilots getting displaced?

There was a small surplus of 6 B756 Captains out of Dulles back in May. There were enough senior volunteers to offset this surplus and no one was forced out of Dulles. The FO position has been very stable and as a matter of fact, there were unfilled vacancy bids on the B756 at several domicile a few months ago.

At GSR, we were told that SFO has more 737 departures/day (77) then Newark (75).

If the SLI isn't done for some reason or another...where will these pilots come from?
