It means the majority of current United pilots have been trained from vacancy bids, scheduling out of Willis isn't a train wreck and gets better and then we can start to focus on new hires more than we have the last several months. Nothing more. We need new hires in full as well because our manpower will suffer next year. On average, we are already flying less block hours than planned due to the fact that we don't have enough bodies.

I interviewed week of October 22nd with a mid range SSN. Hoping for May or June.
Anyone know how many furloughs are still out there that could take training slots? I know they have all be offered recall but I am just trying to guess when the training classes will be filled mostly with new hires? Thanks.

Just got off the phone with a friend that asked CV on my behalf regarding the 1 yr expiration of the COE. He said it is NOT something to worry about. They had 2008 Pool-ies that were trained in 2012 according to CV.
Keep in mind however that Friday is his last day in office so to speak so the new fill could always change that, but he doesn't think they will.
