What happens regarding pay when you are converted from long to short call? Aren't you paid at a higher rate if converted more than a certain number of times within a month?

You can only be converted 5 times, with an hour added to your reserve guarantee each time after you are converted more than twice. So if they convert you 5 times in a month your guarantee goes from 73 to 76 hours.

Well they converted me to short call the first day, but i commute from DEN and Im worried that they'd convert me at night leaving me no chance to get back to EWR. Lately ive been volunteering for short call since im already here...

I think the 5 conversion max may be bye-bye. A scheduler told me that there no longer is a max, and I can see a few people with 6 shorts calls at the end of Feb.
Also, I believe you only get the extra of hour pay per UNUSED short call or field standby after 2. If they use you then it won't count

Well the last 16 737-900's delivered were ordered for the LUAL side, so it makes sense that most of the new guppy Captains are going to be from the LUAL side.
No reason we can't fly airplanes our company bought for us to fly on our routes. Anyone on the seniority list can bid those. Since most of the CAL guys left EWR and bid into IAD, DEN, ORD, LAX, and SFO seems only right that someone has to take the places in EWR.
If guys don't like it, they should have stayed there and not left the base.

What guys are you talking about? Not one post I've read in weeks has anyone upset! In fact the general mood has been very positive (excluding you) and I think most people are HAPPY that everyone is getting a chance to bid on said equipment!! Again, not sure what your point is except you are bitter, sorry no one else wants to join!!
